Just before my daughter left for college we had a family dinner. At one point she was told, “You know they think differently where you’re going, they’re going to try to change you”.
A hush came over the room. My daughter has never been one to hold back her thoughts. Was this going to be the beginning of another family “discussion”?
Her response truly spoke to me. “If I go all that way and don’t come back changed, I would say you didn’t get your money’s worth.”
When did listening to a new or different opinion, and changing your views, become a bad thing? We are truly in the new Age of Enlightenment, and it can be so exciting!
